Physician Scientist Training Pathway
(PSTP)
I would like to bring to your attention an excellent opportunity
that the Northwestern University Physician Scientist Training
Program offers for your MD-PhD graduates. The Departments of
Internal Medicine, Neurology, Pathology, Pediatrics, Surgery,
and Urology have developed an integrated research residency/fellowship
program with programmatic activities involving trainees in all
disciplines -- effectively a postgraduate version of the MD-PhD
program.
The Northwestern PSTP provides outstanding clinical training
in these six specialties, intensive mentorship on career development
and pathway to independence, financial supplementation and access
to some of the country's best fellowship programs. William Schnaper,
M.D. is leading this effort, and both general and specialty-specific
information is provided at our web site http://pstp.northwestern.edu.
I would appreciate it if you could forward this message with
attachment to your students. We have put a lot of work into developing
the program and will nurture your graduates to give them the
best possible chance of succeeding as academic physician-scientists.
Sincerely,
David
